KRIS VANSNICK IS NEW COACH YELLOW TIGERS

12/07/2023

Kris Vansnick is the new national coach of the Yellow Tigers.

He succeeds Gert Vande Broek who wants the National Women's Team to be able to complete the ongoing campaigns in serenity.

Vansnick has been an assistant coach of the Yellow Tigers since 2006.

With his experience as an assistant and with his vast knowledge of international and Belgian volleyball, he is ideally placed to lead the Yellow Tigers. He helped build the success of the current talented young squad that will finish the European Championships in their home country this summer.

"It is an honour to coach this team. It is not a step into the unknown but it remains a huge challenge to be able to coach the talented squad. I will continue to build on the foundations that we have laid together with the entire staff to bring the upcoming European Championships in our own country to a successful conclusion. Together with the entire Yellow Tigers group, I want to look to the future and focus exclusively on the sporting challenges ahead of us", the new coach said.

Guy Juwet, President of Volley Belgium, is also pleased with the appointment of Kris Vansnick: "we have chosen, in consultation with the Board of Directors of Volley Flanders, to guarantee sporting continuity. We also took into account the sporting challenges for the Yellow Tigers. The ladies have a good relationship with Kris, which was an important condition for appointing a new national coach. We have every confidence in the new coach, his staff and the players."
