General Assembly (Volley Belgium) renews the mandate of Guy Juwet and Claude Kriescher

24/06/2025

At the General Assembly of Volley Belgium, it was decided to extend the mandate of president Guy Juwet and financial director Claude Kriescher. Both have held their positions since 2017 and are now starting their third — and therefore statutory final — term.

The extension aims to ensure continuity within the federation, successfully complete ongoing projects, and prepare the transition to a new leadership team. This future team will determine the direction of the umbrella organization Volley Belgium.

Volley Belgium serves as a bridge between the two sub-federations, Volley Vlaanderen and the Fédération Volley Wallonie-Bruxelles, and also represents Belgium at the international level within the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

In addition to their national mandates, Juwet and Kriescher also remain active internationally:
Guy Juwet was elected in 2024 as Vice-President and Treasurer of the CEV.
Claude Kriescher is Vice-President and Treasurer of WEVZA (the Western European Zonal Association) and serves on the CEV European Competitions Commission.
Together with Arturo Di Giacomo, head of the refereeing department of Volley Belgium and Chair of the European Refereeing Commission (ERC) within the CEV structure, they form the team that will continue to manage and strengthen Volley Belgium's international relations in the future.

Sam Deroo is also active on the international scene within the FIVB as a member of the Athletes’ Commission.
