The ServeHER Dual career program in volleyball is now ready
The ServeHER dual career educational program has been officially developed and is now ready for implementation within the framework of the ServeHER project (No. 101185045 — ERASMUS-SPORT-2024), co-funded by the European Union. The program is aimed at girls aged 16–17 who are actively engaged in volleyball and offers an innovative, science-based model that enables them to remain in sport while simultaneously preparing for future professional roles beyond their competitive playing careers.
What makes the ServeHER program different?
At the core of ServeHER lies the understanding that volleyball is not just a sport, but a powerful environment for building life skills. The program builds upon the core values of sport - teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and sustainability - and transforms them into realistic and meaningful career pathways.
The training program is structured into three practical modules:
- Coach - development of technical, pedagogical, digital, and communication skills;
- Club manager - fundamentals of sports management, good governance, planning, and social engagement of sports clubs;
- Statistician - introduction to modern methods of performance analysis and data-driven decision-making in volleyball.
Through this program, we aim to demonstrate to young female athletes that their future in volleyball does not end with the final match - it can continue as coaches, leaders, and experts who actively shape and transform the sport from within. The program directly addresses one of the most pressing challenges in women’s sport - the early drop-out of girls from organised sport during their teenage years - by offering a meaningful alternative and a clear perspective for personal and professional development.
