North Sea Port will be shirt sponsor of the Yellow Tigers, among other things, alongside the National Lottery.
With an annual added value of €12.6 billion, 102,000 (in)direct jobs, and 550 companies, North Sea Port ranks among the top 10 ports in Europe. As a top European port, it stretches from Vlissingen and Terneuzen in the Netherlands to Ghent in Belgium.
As a major European hub, North Sea Port values cooperation in Europe. The port area not only has a wide variety of goods, it also has room for further development and growth. To exploit that potential, government, business and port are working closely together to be a climate-neutral port by 2050.
"North Sea Port is a top European port and home to 550 top companies. We therefore did not hesitate to commit to this European event with top teams. The city of Ghent as a stage for the ambitious and talented Yellow Tigers, but also as one of the central hubs of our Flemish-Dutch port that stretches from Vlissingen to Ghent - that, of course, makes it unique. That is why we enthusiastically signed up as a sponsor and are supporting the European Championship to promote the shared values of equality, team spirit and inclusion. Because that is what we stand for: 'Together, smarter' is not our slogan for nothing,".said Daan Schalck, CEO of North Sea Port.
Geert de Dobbeleer, general manager of Topvolley Belgium and Volley Vlaanderen is also looking forward to the cooperation:
"We are very pleased with the arrival of a global player like North Sea Port for this European Women's Championship. We share the same values: inclusion, team spirit, sustainability and fair play. Volleyball is the second team sport in Flanders, the third in Wallonia and the arrival of North Sea Port is an added value to take the sport to the next level."
